The BAKFlip G2 tonneau proves that a truck bed cover can be both stylish and functional. Convenient Folding Design
One of the BAKFlip G2's most attractive features is that it can be folded all the way up and remain securely positioned on your truck while you are driving, even at highway speeds. This means that you can haul large cargo without having to completely remove the tonneau. Simply unlatch each of the panels, fold them one on top of the other, and flip them back so that they sit upright against the cab of your truck.
Then flip up the prop rods that are attached to the tonneau's frame rails, slide the brackets on the cover down over the rods, and tighten the knobs on the brackets to secure the upright cover in place. Rubber bumpers on the cover prevent it from marking your cab or scratching the glass of your rear windshield. When the tonneau is in this position, your vehicle's third brake light will remain visible.
If you want to maintain visibility out of your rear window, you can secure the folded panels of the cover without propping them up against the cab using the tie-down straps and buckles included with the cover. Just fold up the first 2 panels of the cover, leaving the panel closest to the cab latched in place. Make sure both buckle clips are inserted into the buckle ends on the front header panel of the cover and adjust the straps to ensure the cover is secure.
Simple, One-Person Operation
The BAKFlip G2 is easy to operate. To unlatch the rear panel, drop your tailgate and pull either of the 2 release cords located along the bottom corners of the panel's housing. Either cord will release both of the integrated latches so that you can lift up the panel. To unlatch the second and third panels, pull the easy-to-reach release cords built into the corners of those panels.
To close the cover, simply fold the panels back down. Each panel will securely latch back into place under its own weight. When your tailgate is closed and locked, no one will be able to get in to open the cover, thus safeguarding your truck bed and its contents. The sturdy aluminum construction will also prevent anyone from peeling the cover up at the sides or cutting through its center, ensuring additional security.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The BAKFlip G2's rugged construction makes it a great match for your truck, no matter what you do while at work or play. It's strong enough to hold up to 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight when it's folded down, so it can support your weight if you sit or stand on it.
Each 1/2" thick, rustproof aluminum panel has an insulated core that is made with top-quality, closed-cell foam to create a strong, heavy-duty cover. The black paint finish is UV resistant and offers corrosion protection.
The frame rails are constructed of aircraft-grade, rustproof aluminum and have a sleek black, corrosion-resistant powder coat finish. Glass-filled, aluminum-housed nylon latches and round hinges ensure smooth operation for the life of the cover. And matte black rubber seals run all the way around the cover to help to keep water out of your bed. If any water does seep through, it will run along the gutter system that is built into the frame rails and will then exit through drain hoses that install behind your cab.
Easy, No-Drill Installation
Installing the G2 is simple. All you need is a wrench, and you don't have to do any drilling. The tonneau's frame rails clamp to the inside of your truck bed side rails to create a base for the cover. The included bolts secure the front hinge rail to the frame rails at the cab. Slotted brackets on the hinge rail allow the bolts to shift in case you need to adjust the cover to achieve a snug fit.

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the BAKFlip G2 hard folding tonneau cover. Having a truck is great for a number of utilities and having a bed to be able to throw stuff in the back is wonderful. But when you park your vehicle, that does leave the bed exposed and that's also exposed to the elements as well. On the glory of this, this hard tonneau cover is going to make it with your locking tailgate, a nice, a secure storage space for the contents of your truck bed.
Now, some of your more traditional tonneau covers are gonna be a soft material which is great for the elements but really, a utility knife can go through those pretty quick and people can gain access to your bed. And also, they don't really support any weight. This right here can support up to 300 pounds when evenly distributed, so that's pretty nice in itself. I also really like the design of this as it does sit really low profile, almost flush with the bed. Some of your toppers or your tonneau covers can actually raise it up a little bit.
It's not the best look. This one is real sleek looking. And I do like the design because it keeps the water out with the nice seals and also has drains as well. Now, this also has a tri-fold design, which is really nice because if you just need to load a few things in the back, you can simply just lower your tailgate and throw it in there. If you need a little bit more access, no problem.
You just simply pull these cables here, and you can fold this back, and that's gonna gain you a little bit more space. Well, if you need larger items, you can just simply pull this back, and fold another one back and gain even more space. And then if you need to fully use your bed, no problem. Same thing, you can just fold this up. Something else we'll see here that's really nice is this integrated clip.
And that's just gonna allow you to put this in place when you actually have it folded down. That way, this isn't flapping around. It's gonna keep it nice and tight. And then when you do need to use these, those are gonna be right there for you to be able to clip right to this one. Now, what's really nice as well is these clips are going to keep this in place. That way, if you have this folded back, you can still have your rear window visibility but the wind's not gonna catch this and flip it over. So, a nice little added feature. And then once you really need to use all of your bed, you can simply clip this into place here. That one on the other side as well. Tighten that up and then you'll see you actually have bumpers here, so it can rest against the cab itself. So now, we have a ton of extra space to be able to load up our bed. And we actually have a prop rod here and this is going to allow us to keep this bed, or this tonneau cover folded up and out of the way, so it's not gonna flop while we're driving. And you can see that's not gonna fold over while we're driving. Now, this is lightweight aluminum. So, that's gonna make it really nice for when folding it down. It's not super heavy. You can see here, I'm able to move it yet it's still very sturdy. So, you get all the perks of lightweight, not adding a ton of extra weight to your vehicle. But also, the structural rigidity of nice aluminum. Now, aluminum also has some other benefits in the fact that it is rustproof. So, going along with that, it's got a nice, black powder coat finish with a nice texture here that's gonna prevent UV from destroying it. And then that's something that you'll see on some of your soft tonneau covers is over time, that sun just kind of eats away at those. You're not gonna have that issue with this. And also, all these panels are actually insulated. So, it actually feels a little bit more sturdy and it does give it rigidity with that insulation in there. Now, if you're wondering how the installation goes on this, this is actually a pretty easy one. In fact, there's no drilling that's required on any part of this. And you can accomplish this with a 15 millimeter socket, a 13 millimeter socket or wrench. And also, just a rag with some alcohol to just clean the surface for the adhesives. But other than that, it's pretty easy to do. And that was a look at the BAKFlip G2 hard folding tonneau cover..

Easy to install and stays where you put it. Foam piece that goes on bed lip near the cab is a little narrow but does fit. After about two months a small (2-3 in. square) area lost lots paint. Other than that it is good quality and is very easy to use.
Works great. Took some hail damage but didn't crack or break, Just some dents. The four panels give lots of options and much more secure than a canvas topper. One caution: don't leave you're ice scraper in the bed, since it had a habit of freezing shut in real icy weather.

Fedex delivered with the box torn open on the tonneau cover, fortunately the parts were not damaged, bakflip has great product. Fedex not too happy with them.
